Suki Tsujimoto
Suki (Etsuko) Tsujimoto is a New York-based make-up artist with a background in fashion styling. Drawing significant influence from her dual upbringing in New York and Japan, Suki was seldom found without a paintbrush in hand. By age 15, she was already taking courses at FIT and soon discovered fashion as the perfect outlet for her love of fine arts, eventually earning a degree in fashion styling.
After graduating from FIT, Suki launched her career as a stylist. This led to additional work during Fashion Week managing models and dressing for numerous big names, including Carolina Herrera, Betsey Johnson, John Bartlett, DKNY, and many others. Although Suki had a natural talent for styling, she frequently found herself also doing models' make-up during photo shoots and soon developed a passion for make-up artistry. During a brief career hiatus to start a family with her husband (well-known tattoo artist Keith "BangBang" McCurdy) Suki found time to attend the Make-Up Designory in SoHo and afterwards transitioned to a full-fledged career in make-up, with a focus on beauty and character make-up, hair styling, and special effects.
Suki currently works as a freelance make-up artist in NYC, with work featured in film, television, print and press events. She is able to apply full face and body prosthetics, as well as designing and building them. She has also developed a talent of body painting and creating temporary tattoos. When she isn't working and honing her craft, you can find Suki spending time with her beautiful family, or sculpting in her home studio.
